Icon Global has taken a keen interest in the myriad of reform announcements by the Federal Government in the wake of the Productivity Commission and the National Disability Insurance Scheme campaign.

Our interest is focussed on community care and the impact on our customers and resulting requirements for carelink+ under the Living Longer , Living Better Plan and NDIS reforms. Although there is still some way to go to fully understand the impact and needs for carelink+,  the key areas we will address in future releases of carelink+ are:

• consumers taking more control of their funding through CDCs, ISPs and other tracked funding
• outcomes based measurement of care

We anticipated that these areas would be key parts of the reforms and have begun developing specifications to enhance the funds tracking capability of carelink+, through the Financial Packages, and extending the care outcomes tracking and reporting capability of carelink+ through the Active Care Plans feature.

We have already received input from a number of customers and will continue to engage with our customer base to ensure the enhancements are market driven and provide effective flexible tools required.

We will be issuing specifications for feedback to our customers and plan to have the enhancements in version 4.1 for release September 2012.
